Fighting Fleas & Ticks Naturally

The best flea control is a vital animal that radiates health and fitness.  An animal consuming fresh wholesome food and living in a good natural balance with its environment is not likely to attract fleas.  The presence of a flea allergy is an indication of a weak immune system.  Dogs and cats with healthy immune systems do not have inflammatory reactions to fleas.

If you stay away from processed foods, give your pet regular exercise you are on the right step to flea control.  However, if you are looking for some natural flea remedies here are two  suggestions:

  • Combine dill, feverfew flowers and yarrow into a tea, cool then use as a rinse.  Or you can add the following formula to a 240ml bottle of your favourite dog shampoo:
  • 10 drops of tea tree oil and one tablespoon of aloe vera and shake well.  Shampoo your pet as normal, wait 6-10 minutes then rinse with apple cider vinegar diluted in water (1 tablespoon vinegar to 500ml of water)
